first_imgHOUSTON, Texas – The 44th-ranked Drake men’s tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to No. 74 William & Mary on the last day of the Rice Invitational at the George R. Brown Tennis Center on Sunday.The Tribe won courts two and three to earn the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead.WM’s Addison Appleby defeated Vinny Gillespie, 6-3, 6-3 to put the Tribe up 2-0. Freshman Tom Hands topped Aidan Talcott, 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 5 spot to put the Bulldogs within one, but Damon Niquet pushed it back to a two point lead, 3-1 with a win at No. 6. Sophomore Calum MacGeoch made it 3-2 with a three-set win over Alec Miller, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 3.
