Boardcertification or Board eligibility in Anatomic and ClinicalPathology is required. Additional subspecialty training and/orexpertise is desired, either in Clinical Pathology or in AnatomicPathology, particularly molecular pathology. Also, interested inbone and soft tissue pathology, head and neck pathology, breastpathology, and/or cytopathology. The successful candidate shouldhave evidence of scholarly achievements and experience in teachingand training medical students, graduate students, residents andfellows. Experience in obtaining research funding and/or developingand translating their discoveries into novel clinical applicationsis encouraged. Academic appointment and salary will be commensuratewith experience.This position will also serve as the Laboratory Director,University of Maryland Medical Center’s (UMMC) Midtown CampusLaboratory, Baltimore, Maryland, and support the UMMC DowntownCampus Laboratories of Pathology. Broad-based experience inlaboratory management is required.The University of Maryland Medical Center has 757 total licensedbeds, 333 intensive care beds, and performs close to 20,000surgeries per year.
