Ghaziabad, Sep 19 (PTI) Paramilitary CISF today announced a new corpus of Rs 25 lakh welfare funds and over 100 scholarships for meritorious and deserving children of its troops and officers. The scholarship scheme, called the Director Generals Meritorious Award, was launched by Savitri Singh, wife of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, during an event of the wives welfare association of the force Sanrakshika at the forces camp located here. The first of its kind scholarship scheme in the force will benefit 110 meritorious children, ten brilliant ones in the sporting arena and wards of those personnel who lay down their lives on the line of duty. A corpus of RS 25 lakh on an annual basis has been earmarked for this scheme, a senior official said. Sanrakshika President and wife of CISF Director General Surender Singh, Gunita Singh, said the Association will initiate many more welfare schemes for the families of the force in the future. Savitri Singh also released a magazine containing literary compilations of the members of the Association during the event. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is tasked to secure 59 major civil airports of the country apart from vital installations in nuclear and aerospace domains. PTI NES PAL
