Amazon is making this high-tech shopping experience a reality with its Amazon Go stores.Amazon Go, which already has outposts in Illinois and Washington, is expanding its footprint in California. Today, the state’s first Amazon Go store opened its doors in San Francisco, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.The store, which is located at 300 California Street, offers the advanced perk of cashier-less checkout, where customers can go into the store, purchase prepared food, meal kits, and beverages, and automatically check out without using cash or cards. All customers have to do is check in with the Amazon Go app, pick the grocery items they would like to buy, and then the store’s Just Walk Out Technology will virtually charge them when they walk out.The new Amazon Go store joins existing Amazon Go locations in Chicago and Seattle. Amazon Go’s website noted that another Amazon Go store will open at 98 Post Street in San Fransisco soon.
